Good news, handheld fans! We’ve got (at least) two new Lynx games headed your way this year!
First up is Wee Ninja. This cartoony platformer first appeared on the 5200 a few months ago and made quite a splash there. Now we’ve got an excellent port for the Lynx, and it’s received numerous upgrades:
- New graphics with more colors
- Parallax scrolling
- New animations when you stomp enemies or use ninja weapons
- New music: three new songs exclusive to this release!
- New story screens
- High score & best time saved to EEPROM on the cartridge
Wee Ninja is coming April 25 can be ordered right now, or purchased at Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee.
Next, we are revisiting one of our favorite projects: Microvaders! We’ve created a brand-new experience called “Caravan Edition.” In this game, you have a three-minute timer to progress as far as you can and earn a high score. If you’re REALLY good, you can beat the game and score bonus points for each second remaining on the clock!
You might think, “Why only three minutes? Isn’t that really short?” Well, yes, but that’s part of the charm. Caravan is excellent for high-score competitions where only a few minutes of gameplay is required. But before you know it, you’re sucked in and spending an hour on it just to see if you can improve that high score a smidge. It’s really crazy and addictive all at the same time.
Plus, we’re adding some new perks to Microvaders Caravan Edition. There will be some new achievements to unlock, and new background graphics too.
We’re trying something different for this release. Microvaders Caravan Edition will be offered as a digital ROM purchase as well as a physical cartridge. The ROM edition is coming May 2026, and the physical cartridge is coming August 2026.
